In Memory of Grandpa Joe

Well today was a wonderful and joyous day to celebrate Jesus. This weekend was very tumultuous. Went to visit my grandmother(father's side) who was in the hospital recovering from surgery. Then on our way home we stopped off at my cousin's house to see her and her family and there newest arrival who is 2 months old. While getting ready to leave her house late that evening we got a call that my grandfather (mother's side) was being rushed to the hospital his neighbor had found him passed out. So I was the first one there at the hospital and when the nurse came out she brought me to that dreaded family conference room and I knew what I was going to hear next would not be the news I was praying for. To make a long story short.... the family members that made it there after me all got to share some time in those last few hours of his life. We all knew that he was gone from the minute we got there but were all able to say good bye in our own way and then let him drift away from us peacefully. It was an amazing day seeing a new life just starting and also one of the most devastating days because I had to say goodbye to my grandfather. I will cherish the last couple of years with him the most cause he was able to share some special moments with my daughter and those memories I will never forget.
